Risong Bay

Hidden within Risong Bay's arm like walls, six secretive pockets of bays and lagoons allow kayaks to easily pass through tunnel entrances to shallow lakes and bays where speed boats just can't reach. For millennia, these bays have served as nurseries for baby sharks, stingrays, and eagle rays. As we paddle quietly among'st these youngsters, they hone their hunting and feeding skills before they graduate to the outer reef. Our Risong tours also take you to pristine coral gardens such as Blue Devil Gardens and the Sunken City. Undisturbed by divers or fisherman, these habitats are rich marine biodiversity centers bursting with baby butterfly fish, honeycomb groupers, and the unusual crocodile fish. The tranquil waters of Risong Bay also allow us to explore the unusual botanical wonders of our remote archipelago.

The pups will remain within the protected waters of the bay for two to six months before venturing out into the lagoon for better feeding opportunities. The protected waters of Risong Bay hold six separate marine bays, each of which provides a unique habitat to nesting birds, baby sharks, rare fish, and botanical wonders. The inlets are accessible only by kayak via siphon tunnels, narrow gaps, and shallow water channels. Founder and Biologist Ron Leidich was the first person to explore Risong by kayak and still wonders if the bay wasn't designed for paddling explorers. 

​A narrow winding channel entrance gives way to crystal clear waters filled with delicate corals and exquisite fishes. Subterranean tunnels connect to second lake which can result in a salt water flow bathes pink sea fans & pajama cardinal fish in all the nutrients they need to support their life. The name sake of the lake is course the star attraction and creates an unforgettable image.

Risong grand finale, a turquoise oasis known as Mandarin Fish Lake treats paddlers and snorkelers to the ultimate tropical haven. After winding through a channel filled with pink sea fans, you will enter crystal blue waters purified by a natural limestone filter. Separated from the world, we swim among'st Pajama Cardinal Fish, Red Breasted Wrasse, Colorful Clams, and the lake's name sake, the unforgettable multi-colored Mandarin Fish.​
